The company needed a flexible system to capture attendance for staff working from offices, outdoor sites, and fully deputed project locations. Their biometric-based setup could not reliably record attendance for mobile and site-based employees, causing manual work and inaccuracies in Loss of Pay (LOP) days.

- Zoho People’s cloud and mobile capabilities were configured to allow employees to mark attendance from office, project sites, or while on outdoor duty, with options such as web check-in, mobile app check-in, and geo-based validations where required.
- Attendance and leave modules were tightly integrated so that approved leaves, half-days, and late/early rules flowed directly into the attendance summary used for LOP calculation.
- Separate location-based holiday calendars were set up for Indian and UAE offices to ensure that local holidays were correctly accounted for in attendance and LOP calculations.
- Role-based access and approval workflows were implemented so that line managers and HR could approve attendance regularizations and leave requests, while higher management received only consolidated dashboards and exception reports.
